Mary McGill's Profile

Mary McGill Mary McGill presents and produces iTalk. In September 2009, she was named as one of the top three best new presenters on Irish radio. With less than a year at the helm, Mary saw iTalk take the silver award for Specialist Speech Program at the PPIs, seeing off stiff competition from some of the biggest names in the business. Before joining i102104 in 2007, Mary completed a BA in Media Studies (which included a lot of time farting around on student radio). Then Mary decided to try and be sensible, so off she went to do a MA in English Literature and Publishing but after a stint in the ‘real world’ it was obvious where Mary truly belonged: in Media Land. In i102104, Mary takes care of iTalk, voices many an ad, makes appearances in satirical news segment Epic New Daily, acts in radio dramas like the PPI award winning ‘Video Killed the Radio Star’ and is part of the documentary team. She has also been a finalist in the Vogue magazine competition for young writers.  Mary could talk to the wall but she’d much rather talk to you. Whether it’s giving advice about the more delicate aspects of life or the best way to dance on tables without breaking your neck, Mary is gal with the plan.

Peter's Profile

Peter GPeter ganley is a presenter and producer on iTalk.   He previously worked on igohome as a producer and co-presenter, where he helped take home gold in the light entertainment category at the PPI awards in 2008. In 2009 Peter won silver in both the Innovation and drama categories, as the producer and director of "radio killed the video star", a comedy mockumentary lampooning the media.   Peter also created a biting regular satirical insert for two years called "Epic News". It went out as part of the main lunchtime bulletin on i102-104 and i105-107 daily and targetted everyone from Relegious fundamentalists to Katie Prices plastic surgeon.   Peter occasionally writes for several European gaming and movie websites and secretly fantasies about becoming the fifth member of the Ghostbusters. He’s also a music obsessive and has spear headed two top 40 irish chart enteries for charity. Before joining i102104 in 2007, Peter studied arts in NUIG where he still can't remember the lecture hall names. Sadly his subjects were psychology and english, not face painting and paper maché.   Inspired by memories of April O'Neil on the Teenage mutant ninja turtles, Peter subsequently completed an Honours MA in Journalism before realising news was a bit boring and got lost in the madness of student radio. The rest as they say is history. For maximum effect please re-read this bio while listening to the Guile theme music from Street Fighter II at high volume.
